Is Transdermal Right for Me?
5 Common Pain Syndromes
Regardless of its cause, pain disrupts the way we live our lives. We are honored to help our patients manage the pain and discomfort resulting from chronic conditions. Below are 5 common pain conditions that have led many of our patients to Transdermal Therapeutics.
Adverse Reactions
Adverse Reactions to Topical Pain Creams
There can be adverse reactions to any medication. The most common adverse reaction reported to us by patients and prescribers is skin rash. However, this has been reported in <1% of the prescriptions we’ve dispensed since 2012. In ~0.2% of reported events, patients have experienced a systemic reaction such as dizziness.
Skin reactions can result from improper application of the cream such as failure to cleanse the skin prior to applying the cream (which can cause contaminants to be driven into the skin), or leaving excess cream on the skin surface after application.
Having or developing an allergy to one of the ingredients in your pain cream could also cause a skin reaction, so be sure to inform your prescriber and pharmacy of any known allergies. If you think you are having an adverse reaction from your pain cream, discontinue using the cream and contact your doctor or one of our pharmacists.
You may contact one of our pharmacists with any complaints, concerns, or adverse events at 1-877-581-5444.
Technology & Testimonials
Micelle Technology
The micelle formation process embeds the prescribed pain medications in each micelle. The lipophilic exterior of the micelle penetrates the skin, and releases the medication directly onto the painful nerves and tissues.
